Description

Bruker M4 TORNADO

The Bruker M4 TORNADO can be hired for analytical purposes. This powerful tool analyses a vast array of samples, opening opportunities for a range of industries. The micro XRF is a large instrument that comes in a transport case on wheels. This case then converts into a table with the M4 TORNADO staying in place. The table becomes the perfect place to set up as your workspace whilst you analyse.

Who should hire a micro-XRF?

This hiring option is great for those who want to analyse samples on the micro-XRF but do not plan to purchase the instrument. PSS will organise transport of the instrument and the client pays a per day fee for the instrument and covers transport costs.

Requirements of hiring a micro-XRF

Micro XRF instrument emits radiation, therefore all intended users of the micro XRF must have a user licence. It is the responsibility of the client hiring to ensure that they have the appropriate accredited radiation user licence prior to hiring. Additionally the instrument should be added to the licence for the duration of the hire. Requirements vary from state and territory. PSS strongly encourage clients to check that they meet the requirements of the region from which you are hiring within.

What does micro-XRF analyse?

Micro X-ray Fluorescence spectroscopy is a rapid and non-destructive technique used to acquire quantitative chemical data at high spatial resolution (i.e. µm-scale). Whether small or large, smooth or uneven, the instrument is equipped with a large high-speed stage that supports 2D analysis of virtually any kind of inorganic, organic and liquid samples.

Minimal to no sample preparation is required to produce a variety of 2D element and mineral maps. The large vacuum chamber enables element detection from U to Na. Customisable spot sizes down to 25 µm means that small-scale textural and compositional features can be identified, including those that may not be visibly discernible. Heterogeneous samples are no longer a problem for qualitative and quantitative XRF analysis, with the element maps providing the ability to observe the spatial variation and concentration of major, minor and trace elements across large and small samples.

Alternative Analysis Options

PSS also offer sample analysis on the micro XRF. This is a great option if you are interested in the micro-XRF technique for sample analysis, but are not wanting to hire or purchase. Sample analysis provides flexible options to suit every project. It is optimal for both batch analysis and one offs. The analysis can prove useful for both elemental and mineral investigations.

Interested in Purchasing?

If you are interested in purchasing a micro-XRF, PSS encourages you to book in a demo with the instrument! Demos can be done at our West Perth office. Alternatively, similar to a hire, you can have the instrument sent to you for a set period to determine if it is the best fit.
